SafetyTown comes back to MPS for its 15th season.  SafetyTown is a nationally recognized program run completely by community volunteers to provide an introduction to incoming kindergarteners to the Middletown Public School system.  The program is free to newly registered Middletown Kindergarteners and requires program registration.
The program features the expertise of community volunteers who teach lessons in safety which include; fire safety, traffic safety, stranger danger, pet safety, bus safety and water safety.  The exciting feature to this program is that the program is manned by middle and high school volunteers who not only facilitate the lessons with our community partners but have built a Kindergarten sized 3-D replica of the Town of the Middletown for the students to ride their trikes through as they learn about traffic safety.  SafetyTown is conducted at Aquidneck Elementary School.

April is the Month of the Military Child.....

Gubernatorial Proclamation: Month of the Military Child

April is the Month of the Military Child. During April, the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission (MIC3) along with many other organizations, non-profits, and public entities will underscore the important role children play in the Armed Forces community.  The Middletown Public Schools is proud to also join in this important celebration!

Don't forget that April 25th is “Purple Up! For Military Kids” day and across the nation, people are being encouraged to show support for our military and veteran children and to thank them for their strength and sacrifices.

Learn More in this Letter from Superintendent Kraeger (also the Commission Chairman and the MIC3 Commissioner – Rhode Island)
