Mrs. Palkovic and Miss Dugan

We are very happy to inform you that we have a wonderful class of 24 students.  This year we have the opportunity to have two teachers in the classroom all day long.  Cathy Palkovic is the general education teacher and Shannon Dugan is the special educator.  We are looking forward to having a great year together.  We have been busy getting into Readers and Writers Workshops.  Students are all reading books on their reading level.  Students work in small group for 5 literacy learning centers.  Each center is 20 to 25 minutes long daily.  The centers are a grammar/word work, fluency/reading passages, read to self, word games, and writing.  During the majority of the centers the small groups will have a teacher that will facilitate the group.  This gives lots of teacher feedback to the students promptly during the center time. 

We have two wonderful student teachers who will be working in our classroom until December.  Their names are Miss Erin Liddell and Miss Andria Benjamin.  They are students from Salve Regina University.
