Your school counselor is eager to assist students and parents in a variety of ways. Some examples of guidance services include:

1. Listening to problems relating to school

2. Helping to find solutions to these problems

3.  Teaching social skills

4. Setting goals with students in order to improve grades

5. Meeting with parents and teachers to provide students with the best education possible!

Here are some helpful websites when special concerns come up with your child.

kidshealth.org- A website that discusses many issues like death, grief, loss, bullying, divorce, growth and developmental, medication, and much more. The site offers sections for parents, teens and young children. Some articles can be found in Spanish.

kidsclick.org- A website run by librarians. This is an easy way to find read aloud books or chapter books to discuss special issues that may arise. 

FamilyEducation.com- A website to teach kids about money. Talk to your child about money, layoffs, expenses, necessities vs. desires, etc. This website offers handy solutions, quick to read articles, as well as suggestions on communicating about money.

stopbullyingnow.com- A website that was developed by Stan Davis, who has studied the causes and effects of bullying on children. This sight gives communication tools, examples, and great advice for parents!
