It is an honor and privilege to have the opportunity to serve the community of Middletown as the Assistant Superintendent of Academic and Technology Services.  Middletown Public Schools has a long custom of excellence in all educational endeavors, and we are committed to keeping that tradition alive and well while working diligently to help Middletown Public Schools ensure success for every student.

As you will see on the website, the focus of our school system is our interest in the success of every one of our students. Our mission, district goals, and strategic plan reflect our commitment to success for EVERY student.  Your input and involvement in your child's education or your interest in the district as a resident of the town is greatly appreciated.  We are committed to the continuation of the Middletown Public Schools a source of great pride. 

Working together, I know that Middletown Public Schools will provide the foundation for an excellent educational experience.  We are committed to ensuring that all students receive an education that will offer them success as lifelong learners prepared to achieve success in the global market-place.  If I or any of our administrators, teachers, or staff can ever be of any help to you or your child at any time, please, do not hesitate to contact any of us.  It will be our pleasure to work with you.

     Linda Faria Savastano was born and raised in Newport, RI.  She graduated from Rogers High School and then earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree from Providence College with a major in mathematics and a minor in business and secondary education in 1989.  She earned her Master's Degree in Computing Technology in Education from Nova Southeastern University.  She went on to earn a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.) in Educational Leadership from Bridgewater State University.    

     Linda was hired in 1989 to teach mathematics at Middletown High School and has served in various positions, at all levels, in the Middletown Public Schools, including computer science teacher and Technology Director.  Since 2003 she has managed the Technology Department, helping to build a network that supports a wired and wireless digital learning environment in every classroom in the district.  She was appointed Assistant Superintendent in 2008, where she has overseen curriculum, instruction, assessment, grants and technology, among other areas supporting teaching and learning in the school district.  Recently she was awarded the International Society of Technology Educators (ISTE)– Making IT Happen Award and was published in the Journal of Staff Development.  She currently serves on the RI School Superintendents' Association (RISSA) Executive Committee and Co-Chairs RISSA's Program Committee.  She has also served on the RI Society of Technology Educators (RISTE) President and on the Executive Committee.  

       Linda is proud of her Aquidneck Island roots, where her mother and father were lifelong residents.  She currently lives in Jamestown with her husband Chris, a High School Principal and her two teenage children.  She is also a Part Time Professor at Bridgewater State University, where she teaches Technology Education for Administrators for students in the Master's and C.A.G.S Programs.
