PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Dear Gaudet Middle School Community,

I am incredibly excited to be the principal at Joseph H. Gaudet Middle School. I was born and raised in Middletown and attended Middletown Public Schools. After graduating from Middletown High School, I attended Salve Regina University and earned my Bachelors in Secondary Education and Mathematics. I was then hired as a math teacher at Middletown High School and have served in that role for the past 7 years. During that time, I also went on to earn my Masters in School Leadership from Providence College.

One of the interview questions I was asked by the committee was, “Why Middletown?” For me, that answer is easy. Why Middletown? Because I love this school community. I would not be the individual I am today without the amazing educators I had from kindergarten all the way through my senior year. They all had a tremendous impact on my life and were the reason I decided to enter the field of education. My goal as a teacher, and now as a principal, has always been to have a positive impact on the lives of students. Why Middletown? Because the best way to repay a town for the great education they gave me is to help provide that same experience to the students of today.

I believe that strong partnerships between the school and the community of Middletown are essential to the success of our students. I will strive to keep you informed of the amazing things happening in our school. We are very fortunate to have a talented group of educators who care deeply about their students. Our faculty and staff go above and beyond to meet the needs of our students.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. I look forward to collaborating with you to provide an amazing school experience to our students.

Sincerely,

Gerald Haas

Principal
