Dear Middletown Families,
We believe families are important partners in their children’s education. To provide greater visibility into what students are learning, we have launched our K–12 Curriculum Blueprint on the district website.
The Curriculum Blueprint provides an overview of the learning experiences students can expect throughout their educational journey in Middletown. Families can explore:
Course descriptions — an overview of what students will learn in each course
Units of study — the major areas of learning within each course
Learning targets — what students are expected to know and be able to do
Essential questions — the meaningful questions that guide deeper learning and inquiry
Our initial focus has been on core content areas, where we have prioritized building and publishing curriculum information. This work is ongoing, and families will see the blueprint continue to expand across all subjects and content areas, PK–12.
This is an important step in making our curriculum more visible and accessible to our community. We believe families should have a clear understanding of what their children are learning, why they are learning it, and how learning progresses from one grade level to the next.
We invite you to explore the Middletown Public Schools Curriculum Blueprint by visiting our district website and clicking the “Curriculum Blueprint” button on the homepage. Check back regularly as we continue to build and expand this resource.

Michelle Fonseca, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning
