MLK Open on Saturdays

–Starting January 24, 2026, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center will be open on Saturdays for the Breakfast and Food Pantry programs. Breakfast will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and the Food Pantry will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“No one should have to worry about when their next meal is coming,” says Heather Hole Strout, Executive Director of the MLK Center. “We have been working on getting the resources needed to open the Center on Saturdays for two of our most vital programs, Breakfast and the Food Pantry. Weekend hours will give more flexibility to the many people in our community who are working hard to put food on their table and can’t get to the Center during the week. We are so grateful to our wonderful donors who are helping to make this expansion of programming possible.”

With the addition of Saturday hours, the Breakfast program is now open six days a week, Monday through Saturday from 7:30 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. A hot and hearty meal is served each day. The breakfast program is open to anyone in need of food and fellowship. Please use the Edward Street entrance.

The Food Pantry will also be offered six days a week with the additional Saturday hours. The program will now be open:

 Monday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

 Tuesday: 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
