The national award results are in! Back in January, there were a total of three Gold Key Regional winners from MHS that went on to compete at the national level of the Scholastic Art & Writing Competition. The Middletown High School art program is exceptionally proud to share that junior MHS student Griffin Soderberg was awarded with the distinction of National Silver Key for his photograph titled "Up up and away" in the Scholastic Art Awards for 2023. He is only one of approximately 2,200 students in the entire country, and one of only 9 recognized in the state of RI, to receive this honor for his original artwork. Not only will his photograph be featured on the official Scholastic website all year, but his work will be showcased in a gallery with other national winners as well. A star-studded National Awards Ceremony is typically hosted around the month of June to recognize National Award Winners. #WeAreMiddletown #IslanderPRIDE
